Reid – Joseph, Richard and Philip came from Belleoram NF in 1900. Philip died before the rest of the family came to North Sydney but his son Philip Jr came here. Their first home was what is now 8 Lorne Street. It was a duplex then and the two families lived side by side. submitted by Richard Reid’s great great grandson, J.R. Reid

McLean – McLeans settled in East Side Boularderie at the end of the St. James Road. I have many relatives on the Northside and Sydney Mines in particular from my gg-gf Roderick McLean. We lived in Sydney Mines from 1963 to 1979, but my ggf Archie drove the steam-roller there early in the 1900s. His family were known as the “Steamrollers” . submitted by Rachel McLean Smith
